Band saw mills are versatile machines that can handle a wide variety of sizes and shapes of logs. The author mills a 31” diameter oak log that had been salvaged from a homeowner’s property. After drying, the homeowner plans to use the lumber for furniture and decking. This log yielded 296 board feet of 1” and 2” lumber.
